Our Story

Flop Mobile, formerly known as F-Mobile, is the leading mobile network serving all of Floptropica. Founded in 1995 as The Flop Telecommunications, it is Floptropica's first and largest telecommunications company. Its parent company, Flop Mobile Group, ranks as the fourth most valuable Floptropican brand globally and is the most valuable telecommunications company in the region. With its headquarters located in Jilu, Flop Mobile serves nearly everyone in Floptropica, making it an integral part of daily life.

The company was established on July 22, 1995, by Coolwap, who recognized the urgent need to modernize Floptropica's telecom services. After securing GSM licenses, operations commenced, initially covering the capital, Jilu, with just ten towers. By September of that year, Flop Telecommunications achieved nationwide GSM coverage, celebrating a significant milestone with its first television commercial that showcased its services.

In 1997, after Coolwap's departure, Shanique Candace took over the company and rebranded it as Flopcom. Under her leadership, Flopcom enjoyed success through innovative promotions and marketing strategies. However, increased competition led to a decline, dropping Flopcom to third place in the market. The tragic passing of Shanique on February 28, 2000, created a void that prompted employees to call for Coolwap’s return. Responding to the call, Coolwap rebranded the company to Floptropican Mobile on June 26, 2000, leading the way in introducing 3G technology on October 2, 2001. Floptropican Mobile was the highest bidder for the 3G license, successfully outbidding PAPI.

The company continued its momentum by entering the landline market in 1997, diversifying its services to meet the growing needs of Floptropican customers. In 2007, Floptropican Mobile transformed into F-Mobile, becoming a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG. This partnership enabled F-Mobile to obtain its 4G license in 2009, once again outbidding competitors like Sunrise (Vodafone). Following a strategic decision in 2014, Deutsche Telekom announced its exit from the Floptropican market, resulting in F-Mobile becoming fully owned by Flop Mobile Inc. The company subsequently received a substantial investment from the Floptropican government, which it used to revamp its network and launch 5G technology on July 31, 2019, further solidifying its leadership in the market.

In August 2023, Flop Club Server announced its acquisition of Flop Mobile. This marked a new era for the company, which made headlines as the first and only carrier to introduce 6G and 7G technologies after successfully bidding in government auctions. With this innovative approach, Flop Mobile not only set industry standards but also underscored its commitment to staying at the forefront of telecommunications.

Flop Mobile has established official partnerships with several widely-used global applications, including AirBnB, Deezer, and Evernote, enhancing its service offerings. In late 2024, the company is set to launch Flop TV, expanding its multimedia presence. Flop Mobile claims to operate 10,005 stations, making it the largest network in Floptropica and allowing it to provide extensive coverage across the region. Its dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has earned it the Floplaut Award for "Best Network" for ten consecutive years. In 2024, Flop Mobile achieved a perfect score of 1,000 points in the Floplaut Awards, excelling in download and upload speeds, coverage, and overall user experience.

On June 8, 2024, Flop Mobile unveiled its latest innovation, the 7G+ network, which enhances internet speed, safety, and call quality. The company also introduced Mix & Max, a customizable feature allowing customers to select from four different plans, each encompassing mobile, internet, IPTV, and device care services. Additionally, on August 13, 2024, Flop Mobile announced the shutdown of its 3G network, effective November 17, 2024. While the shutdown will affect 500 users, the 3G network will remain available for emergency situations, ensuring that users can still reach emergency services when no other network is accessible.

Today, Flop Mobile stands out not only as a leader in telecommunications but also as a company recognized for its continuous innovation, customer-centric services, and commitment to shaping the future of communication in Floptropica.
